are all hot guys assholes?
that question's been plaguing me for ages now. for some reason, i seem to be able to meet gorgeous girls who are really sweet, but every hot guy i've met seems to have a stick up anonymous unpleasant hole (the rare exceptions all turn out to be gay). this effect seems to double for asian guys. WHY??!
some theories:
1. ugly duckling theory: girls just have more appearance issues growing up, so they might not even realise they're hot until much later. so early in life they learn to have a good personality. later, they just become hot with a good personality.
2. competitive market theory: i bet you ec people think this is the most plausible. basically, there are just more hot girls than hot guys. that means hot guys can effortlessly get with hot girls, but there are a miscellaneous number of "leftover" hot girls who are just floating around, bereft of guys as good-looking as they are. they get desperate, so they become nice.
3. spoilage theory: hot guys never have to work hard for anything (let alone get girls) so they're emotionally stunted...unable to actually relate to what it might be like to do something for someone else. imagine that!
4. vanity theory: cuz hot guys usually tend to be a bit more vain than other guys, they spend their time worrying about frivolous things usually only girls worry about...become less manly and more catty. that makes them wayyy less attractive, personality-wise.
5. masochism theory: girls just inherently like asshole-ish guys. therefore, if a guy is only ok but acts like an asshole, she all of a sudden suffers the illusion that he's hot. if a hot guy is too nice, she loses interest. or just thinks he's gay.hmmm! i want counterexamples!

i think hot guys who were less hot (read: fat or ugly) when they were younger are less likely to be assholes as per your ugly duckling theory mentioned above...

It makes them even hotter.
Attractive women in my experience tend to be bitchier/assholier than attractive men. Reason being, an attractive woman has it made (she can just sit pretty and no other woman can take that away from her), whereas an attractive man can still have his ass kicked in physical competition and/or career-wise by other men. Therefore a greater proportion of attractive men are humble.
How about... "Guys are assholes to each other theory"
because its ok to be an asshole to your guy friend...
and if all guys are looking for their best friend in a woman,
then guys are looking to be assholes because
that is the best kind of friend
I think a man's class and character are determined at a relatively young age based on his upbringing. If the parents spoiled and pampered him he will be more likely to act fickle, condescending, and rude vs. if the parents taught him to be respectful, humble, hardworking and kind. Therefore I think looks play a relatively minor role in determining why or why not he acts like classless distasteful bastard.

I think people treat others a certain way because we let them get away with it, regardless of whether they are an attractive female or an attractive men. Once you cut them up on the slack and they learned a decent level of respect for you, people are generally not quite as bad. We all know our own version of friends who are probably jerks to others yet when you examine the way those two interact, you'd understand why their actions are to be.
Maybe I just give people too much credit but in the end, we are treated how we let people treat us. Maybe you could put a name to this theory?

i know a hot asian guy. not so much hot, but really good looking. the type mama would like you to bring home. but he's not an asshole - he's worse. he's BORING as all hell. i suppose that is a counterexample.
I'm hotter than all of you combined.
