i've been gifted with the dubious task of figuring how to spend ~3k on a private dinner (necessarily with wine...we're talking co-worker event here) in celebration to the end of, you guessed it, Anonymous Private Equity Deal...
ny natives/residents/fellow corporate cogs: any suggestions for restaurants with good food/good cellar/capable sommelier??

try le bernadin. (err.. i'm not sure i can spell).. it's pricey, but supposedly fabulous. there's definitely a sommelier there, cuz dave had to organize a similar celebratory dinner there.. i believe they have a private room..
can you BYO? I can suggest a (supposedly) ridiculously good wine. Of course I haven't had it since it's one of those bottle that cost $100-200 from the winery itself (x3 for restaurant price).
